Hello All,
This is Part Two of the writing series called “Unconditional Surrender by Virtue of Unconditional Love.” The first article focused on one’s unique shadows and suffering; also, the article explored the concept of justice.
This article will focus on the concept of control; there are many aspects to talk about when it comes to control so it is possible there will be additional articles written about this.
We will first talk about why one yearns to have control over one’s life.
From an early age as a child, depending on one’s childhood some people end up into adulthood needing more control over their life than others; however, the need for control still arises. This ultimately originates from the need to feel safe & secure; safe referring to a more emotional aspect while secure referring to a more tangible aspect.
The issue of someone needing to feel safe and secure is not necessarily a negative thing, rather the question should be asked where/who/what are you putting your safety & security in?
Are you relying on someone/something for your safety & security that is/who is dependent on...
Is it/are they unsteady; it is/are they conditional? If so, your feeling of control will never be firmly planted in The True Nature of Reality. You will always have a fleeting sense of control; such as being on a rollercoaster (wanting to go right but sometimes it takes you left or the ride stops midway)!
Therefore the question becomes, how to ride this rollercoaster with minimal control over the outcome, eventually giving up all control.
